Having concrete ways for persons to journey on the pathway of discipleship is invaluable for churches of all sizes. We begin with common language, principles, and practices, then we create the intentional ways for persons to take the next steps on the journey. Knowing our local church context is important in developing a discipleship pathway. This learning session will provide leaders with ideas to take home for developing discipleship in the small congregation.

The small church is often located in the center of its community. Most small churches have been the hub of community life and faith at some point in history. Small churches are the perfect place for people to explore and grow in faith in a culture of welcome, hospitality, community, partnerships, resources, and
new forms of ministry. You are invited to learn how to develop community relationships, partnerships, innovative ministries, and practical generosity through your unique small church identity. Come learn how to reclaim your identity as a community hub, joining God in an impactful, authentic ministry.

There’s a growing number of micro-churches in the United States--congregations with fewer than 20 folks. Learn how this new reality for the Church comes with hope, promise, and a distinctive set of tools for building the kingdom of God. Micro-churches can offer the simplicity, nimbleness, and intimacy that the gospel calls for and our neighbors hunger for.
Have you heard it said, that faith is better than emotions...that we shouldn't trust our emotions? Taking time for self awareness, choosing , and sharing your life with others are called pursuits in the world of emotional intelligence (EQ). In this workshop, we will explore how emotions and faith intersect for a healthier and more connected life of faith. If you tend to avoid of push down emotions or if you're a person who acts and decides intuitively, this workshop will help you integrate your thinking, feeling, and doing. As Methodists we talk about this as our head, heart and hands. You'll walk away with tools to begin or continue practicing emotional intelligence as a spiritual discipline. Rev. Charity Goodwin
Are you in a small congregation with a big heart for ministry, but the traditional committee structure feels too cumbersome for your context? Would your congregation rather spend more time engaged in ministry than meetings? Join us for a Lunch & Learn overview of simplifying structure for the small churches for greater community impact based on the best-selling book, Mission Possible for the Small Church by authors Kotan & Bradford.
Stories have the power to transform us. This workshop will introduce participants to God’s ongoing redemptive story and the role the church today plays in communicating that narrative. Participants will be encouraged to remember what God has done and narrate what God is doing in their congregations using a unique storyboard tool.
